Private Style Reg
This is a strange term, but it really refers to the style of the registration and implies that it is private.Private style reg is a recent term since the DVLA introduced what they refer to as a new format style plates.

The reason 01 was never released was that they decided to release the last leter of the remaining alphabet - Y1 ABC type plates. So in theory the DVLA can easily release 7.5 million 01 plates. Considering there are only 30 million vehicles on the road, the cherished number plate industry strongly feel that the DVLA should really be very careful about what it lets onto the market place.
